ABOUT BIRKFELL
Built around the work behind the business.
BIRKFELL helps small and growing businesses improve the systems, processes and interactions that keep everyday work moving — making the work easier to understand, connect and improve.
FOUNDER
Founder-led from problem to system.
BIRKFELL was founded by Ricardo Lafertin to help small and growing businesses improve the systems behind their everyday work.
Ricardo works directly on every BIRKFELL project — understanding the process, identifying where friction appears and shaping automation, AI agent or connected-system solutions around the work that actually needs to improve.
The approach is intentionally practical: start with the operational problem, understand what is happening today and introduce technology only where it creates a clearer way of working.

HOW BIRKFELL WORKS
Start with the work, then choose the technology.
The first question is not which tool to use. It is understanding what happens today, where friction appears and what a better process should look like.
Understand the process
Map what happens today, who is involved and where information moves.
Remove unnecessary complexity
Simplify the process before automating or connecting it.
Design the right system
Choose automation, agents, integrations or business systems only where they solve a real operational problem.
Keep people in control
Define clear boundaries, review points and handoffs where judgement matters.
THREE DISCIPLINES
Different tools. One operational view.
01 · Repeatable execution
Automation
Automation handles repeatable work: moving information, applying rules, preparing actions and reducing unnecessary manual steps.
If the process repeats, part of it may be automatable.
02 · Understanding and interaction
AI Agents
AI Agents add understanding and interaction: handling conversations, using approved context and taking defined actions when appropriate.
If the work requires interpretation, an agent may help.
03 · Connected structure
Business Systems
Business Systems connect the tools, information and operational views that the rest of the work depends on.
If the work crosses systems, the connections matter.
Together: better operations
Not every project uses all three. Each is applied only where it fits the work.
BUILT TO WORK BETTER.
Built to work better.
Better operations begin with understanding the work and improving the system around it. Start the conversation.
